THE ANANYANA is a different kind of world, yet easy to reach from the Manila and Cebu international airports. As of February, 2006, the best ways to get there are as follows:
Via ManilaEuropean airlines including Lufthansa and KLM fly to Manila several times a week. Asian airlines also serve the capital of the Philippines via Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. Domestic flights bring you in just one hour to Tagbilaran, the principal city of Bohol Island. There we pick you up in an air-conditioned car and bring you to THE ANANYANA in just thirty minutes.
Via Cebu
There are now direct flights from Europe to Cebu International Airport. However, most major European and Asian airlines bring you there with stops in Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Qatar. We pick you up at the airport in an air-conditioned car and take you to the ferry in Cebu City. A high-speed ferry takes you to Tagbilaran in two to three hours, depending on the boat type. Our driver picks you up there in an air-conditioned car, and you arrive at THE ANANYANA thirty minutes later.
Advantages of both routes
Both routes are easy for people of normal mobility. Each of them requires you to transfer at least onceāand each has particular advantages. The Manila route is somewhat faster, provided you can fly to Tagbilaran on the same day without an overnight stay in the capital. The Cebu route is more in the "globetrotter" style, as the drive through Cebu City and the ferry crossing give you a glimpse of everyday life in the Philippines.
Please note that flight times are mentioned for general orientation only, as airline schedules change constantly. Planning your trip well in advance may save you money, since air fares to Asia vary considerably with the seasons and with advance booking.
A stopover in Hong Kong or Singapore on your trip out is a good idea if you have never visited these cities, or if you are travelling with children. Another stopover on your return trip is not recommended.
