http://wysgal.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html Over the weekend my family stayed in Ananyana Beach Resort in Bohol. The resort is pretty small, only 12 rooms in all, and there were over 30 of us in all so we were able to turn the entire resort into a "private getaway" of sorts. The resort is good looking, but ultimately too expensive for my personal taste. Some relatives say that Panglao Nature Island Resort is a better deal overall, and we actually tried to book there first but they weren't able to accommodate our party. Ananyana's rooms had these irritating huge sliding doors that were supposed to add to the "native" appeal of the resort, but simply succeeded in making it more difficult for us to enter and exit our rooms. What was nice was the fact that they didn't have any TVs in their rooms as this "forced" us to spend most of our time in the public areas --- lounging by the the beach, swinging in a hammock, trying our hands (badly) at some beach volleyball, taking a dip in their modestly sized swimming pool, eating in their overpriced but good restaurant, or checking our emails in our laptops in the beachfront lounge fronting the white sand beach. The water was so calm (not a single wave breaking the shore, and nary a breeze blowing our way) it was almost eerie. It was fun to have the whole place to ourselves ... a cousin likened it to the experience of staying in someone's really big beach house for the weekend (of course we don't know anyone with a beach house as nice and big, which is why we were in a resort in Bohol). We were feeling so at home that by the second night a lot of us took to having dinner in our pajamas.
